Description

Founded initially in Towcester in 1801, Phipps had been brewing in Northampton since 1817. Following a takeover by Watney Mann in 1960 the brewery closed in 1974. The company name, trademark and recipes were acquired and Phipps beers reappeared in 2008. The founding Phipps family re-joined the company in 2014 allowing the historic Albion Brewery and its associated bar to be restored and Phipps brewing to return to the town after a 40-year absence.
