Large country pub, once the southernmost outpost of the Thwaites estate. At one time the village smithy & small cottage pub. Refurbished & transformed into a traditional free house. Large bar area with open fire. Separate dining area & conservatory. Usually two real ales on, often more. Good food at most times. Friendly staff and locals welcoming.
