Pretty stone inn in a conservation village opposite St Mary's church famous for its 11th century crypt. The interior comprises a cosy bar with York range lit in winter, a snug, and two dining rooms. Excellent quality food including local game dishes is served alongside interesting guest beers and a changing guest cider, often Thistly Cross. A secluded beer garden is to the rear which now includes a pizza oven. This remote pub is popular with locals, walkers and shooting parties. Twice winner of York CAMRA Country pub of the Season. Dogs welcome outside only.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
