This is a Grade II listed building whose deeds go back to 1759. An earlier building on this site was described then as a "cottage or tenement with a brew house". It has a multi roomed interior and is cosy in winter with two real fires. It has been extensively improved in recent years since coming back into local private ownership, Well located for Castle Howard.
