The pub seems to have had few changes in the last two hundred years, not least its interior has been spared the modern retro-fitting of various exposed timbers as structural decoration. So it has real authenticity. Regards the union flag painted on its front, this was for the occasion of the Queen’s jubilee in 2022 and was removed within a week. One quite unusual thing, is that contains a men’s hairdressing business. This must be unique to all of Kent and is called Salt Barbers, it operates from Monday to Thursday.
