The George is the oldest pub in the village and can trace its history back to 1616 although original building dates back another century.
It is a friendly multi-roomed pub with a real fire, dark wood interior, Tiffany lamps and historical photographs of the village adorn the walls. A function room is available upstairs.
There is occasional live music and discos. No food served but you are welcome to bring your own or the post office/cafe across the road will deliver and the village shop is almost next door.
Two local ales plus Stans cider and occasional outlet for Stowey Micro Brewery. 'Happy Drinks Sessions' Monday to Friday 12 to 5pm.
Bus service is free but infrequent.
