The Gaskell Sports Pavilion contains a new [2013?] bar and large social area open to both members of the resident City of Wakefield Golf Club and to "Pay to Play" golfers for the day they purchase their ticket. Additionally Footballers and Cricketers of the teams operating from the adjacent sports pitches are able to take advantage of the facilities on offer. The new [2013?] facility has been so named in order to maintain the link with the adjacent grade 2 star listed building of Lupset Hall. The present Lupset Hall building was completed in 1716. It was purchased for the Gaskell family in 1806 and remained in their ownership until 1927 when it was sold to the corporation of Wakefield for £6,370. In 1936 the park land surrounding Lupset Hall was converted into a municipal golf course and the hall itself became the club house. Ho urs shown are those permitted by the clubhouse licence.
