There has been a Wheatsheaf on this site since the 17th century - the present pub was built in 1909. This tie-free town hostelry has gained a well-deserved reputation for the quality and variety of its beers, with typically four regularly changing real ales on offer. The main bar area features darts and a pool table, with a quieter area off to the side. There is a garden and children's play area, and Aunt Sally is played in the summer. Live music features on occasional Friday or Saturday evenings.
