A traditional end of terrace Victorian pub which opened on the 13 April 1848. It has changed very little over the years, and is at the heart of the community. Plans in 1998 to convert the pub into one large bar were thankfully abandoned. The pub can be busy when televised sport is shown. There is a small snug to the right, the bar to the left, and a further room which hosts a darts board. The beer garden is a sun trap in summer. Bar snacks are available. There are photos of steam railway locos on the walls for enthusiasts.
