Restaurant and bar
Formerly built as shop on the site of the demolished Pack Horse Inn in the 1920's, it became a pub named Disraeli's, later renamed the Towngate after its location. It stands in a prominent position at the confluence of three roads. Following a spell as a charity shop and children's literary hub, it was refurbished as an Italian style restaurant and bar. The opening of this was delayed until 2022. The striking building has three floors. Briefly reopened as a restaurant and bar with restricted opening hours until being closed and offered for sale by auction in September. However, it failed to reach the reserve and was offered for sale, via the auctioneers, in mid-September 2022.
Reopened as a restaurant and bar again in June 2023, selling Slovakian food.
