Next to a 13th-century thatched barn, this friendly local replaced an old coaching inn when the road was widened in 1933. One side of the bar acts as a tap room, with a split-level lounge to the right. The large garden features a barbecue area. Events are sometimes held there. In the heart of Whiston, the pub is a regular local CAMRA award winner. The food is home-cooked by chefs. Features include quiz nights, discos, occasional live music and scooter club meets. Music Festivals and Charity events held in garden during the summer. A large, enclosed outside drinking area was added in May 2018 removing a few car parking spaces.
