This pub benefits from a large garden with a childrens play area and a large car park. There is also a front patio. Low ceilings indicate the age of the building - parts are centuries old and it was a farm and ale house before becoming a coaching inn in 1822. The pub has a separate restaurant area. The historic Manorial Barn is to the rear of the pub. An annual Brass Band Festival takes place outside the pub. It was acquired by Greene King from Punch/Spirit and reopened, following a major refurbishment, on 24th June 2016. The Lease is held by Chris Windle's Your Friendly Local Ltd, as are the Colin & the Droppingwell. Quiz nights held on Thursday & Sunday, with live music tribute acts on most Friday and Saturday nights. Up to three guest beers are available. The garden has an outside bar but it doesn't sell real ale.
