A 150-year-old hidden gem tucked away in a rural setting with a large garden and plenty of parking is a truly independent family run pub restaurant. The open-plan interior was refurbished in February 2016 and has a light, contemporary feel with three different seating areas for both formal and informal dining as well as sitting and chatting over a drink.
Occasional music nights and beer festivals are held, which are well-attended. Look out for the posters when you arrive. This pub is popular with locals, families, foodies, and dog-walkers. Many people enjoy a beer here after a walk in nearby Alice Holt Forest. If just wanting a drink and not dining, you may only be able to sit outside at busy times and no areas are set aside for drinkers. There is also a covered area, enclosed during the winter months, with three patio heaters.
The breweries listed are the main ones that supply the pub, but the range may vary.
