Formerly the Black Bull, it dates from 1689 according to a date-stone set in its front wall, and is said to have the oldest surviving bull-baiting pub sign in England. Although retaining its low beamed ceilings and some painted panelling, the pub now consists of one large open plan area, with limited seating. It is very busy on Friday and Saturday nights when a disco is held.
