One of Glasgow's oldest pubs dating from 1884 which still retains some of its Victorian finery with tall columns supporting the high ceilings. Mitchell & Butlers decided to keep it the way it was after the regulars objected to proposed changes, however, a more recent refurbishment has led to the pub being more open plan and food oriented. The pub is situated on the West End's main street near to Glasgow University and is often very busy. Food is served all day and sports are shown on several large TVs.
