Previously owned by Marstons, but sold to Greene King. Now a Hungry Horse family dining venue this pub is an archetypal example of 1930s roadhouse which was described in the 1979 CAMRA local pub guide as having “no fewer than four bars and a skittle alley”. One large central servery now serves what is basically one very large room individualised with a public bar type area at the front with seating, a pool table and dart board plus large lounge bar/dining room to the rear with a small cosy snug type annex. Outside, the pub has picnic tables both to the front and rear.
