The Brown Cow is a friendly traditional village local. The layout is largely open plan with the bar facing the entrance. There is a games area with table tennis and darts at the front right and a beer garden and children's play area to the rear.

Up to three cask ales are served from the Thwaites range, with Gold on permanently and the other two being changing ales including their seasonal range.
