A Lloyd's No. 1 Bar, so slightly more lively at night than during the day.9 hand pumps currently in use for Real Ale. Pub is named after one of the towns Medieval Walled gates no longer in existence. Built in the 1930's as a Ballroom, then Snooker Hall, Night club, before becoming a Wetherspoons pub. Recent changes to the lighting have greatly improved the overall atmosphere, very pleasant well trained staff, with real ale & cider served too a consistently high standard. Well used by locals & visitors alike.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers (These are changed frequently but always include a local beer, usually 2.) and 3 regular beers.
