Very popular 18th-century inn tucked at the end of a cobbled, pedestrianised courtyard with heated outdoor seating/smoking area with a TV for sporting events. The pub was completely refurbished in 2005, and taken over by St Austell Brewery in 2012. The L-shaped bar area and slightly elevated 'lantern room', wood panelling, a mix of plush and wooden seating and copper fittings make for a cosy atmosphere. Increasingly popular with diners. The pub will continue table-service only inside and out as this works for them post-COVID, and booking is advised at busy times.
