High quality pub conversion by Thornbridge Brewery and pub group Pivovar. A sumptuous yet traditional feel is created by the use of mahogany and leather in the seating area, which wraps itself nearly all the way round the bar. Booth seating is to the left and a more intimate snug style area to the right . On the way down the stairs you can see why it's called a Cat and in the small downstairs seating area there is some very strong evidence of the Banker's part of the name. For many years of the 20th century it was a bank, though when built c1873 it was the Saracens Head Inn. At least one dark beer will normally be available. A range of pork pies is available throughout the day.
Conversion
An impressive Thornbridge bar opened in 2019. There is much to admire in the island bar counter, lots of wood panelling and several small seating areas. To the right is a lovely stained-glass window which is an exciting and unexpected touch. There is even a small library. Downstairs additional seating is in the old bank vaults, including in the former safe. The bar serves a range of real ales, no food.
This Pub serves 5 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
