Basic but friendly traditional 19th-century pub, bedecked with flowers in spring and summer, close to the Trent & Mersey Canal.
Still known by locals as the Vine, its former name, it features a main bar with small linked rooms at each end, and a beer garden at the rear with a sheltered decking area and lawn. Outdoor drinking (with picnic tables) is also possible at the front of the pub and and across the road on an enclosed patio by the side of the canal.
Boaters (obviously!), cyclists and walkers are welcome.
Historic Interest
The earliest reference to the pub, as the Vine Inn, appears to be the 1841 census. The date of the name change is subject to dispute, but local CAMRA branch records suggest around 2002/3.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (From Marston's list.) and 2 regular beers.
