Imposing, detached brick building with curved front ('art deco'?). Inside, there is a series of six linked rooms around curve of ground floor, with serving counters on the inside of the curve. The three to the right constitute the public bar, with the largest room at the end. To the left is a smart, comfortable two-section lounge. A separate function room, accessed via the lounge, and a family/children's room both overlook the garden (with children's play area) at the rear of the pub.

Historic Interest
Built for Bass in 1939/40. (Building commenced prior to WW2, but since above window level at outbreak of war, completion was permitted.) The pub remained in Bass’s estate until sold to Punch Taverns between 1995 and 2001 (date not reported or recorded).
