Bohemia House, West Hampstead

Opened just after the Second World War by a group of Czech expats. Independent bar selling draught and bottled Czech lagers in former Czech club premises now open to all-comers. Specialises in cuisine from the region. TV with all the news from Bratislava. It is a much loved West Hampstead institution. The Czechoslovak Club was established in 1939 in Holborn, but moved to West Hampstead in 1946 after WWII.

The building was purchased with help from the President, and was originally a meeting place for Czech and Slovak immigrants, many of whom had fought alongside the Allied Forces during the war. The interior still retains many original features and hasn't changed much throughout the years. There are various rooms, including a bar and restaurant area, as well as a pool table.

The bar is open to the public and retains much of its original charm. There is a large beer garden at the back of the building, which is a great spot to enjoy the summer sun. A traditional menu of Czech and Slovak dishes are served on the menu.

In 2020 the name changed to Bohemia House to reflect new management by one of the founders of the Bohem Brewery. Two of their London-brewed Czech style beers feature on tap alongside Pisner Urquell and bottled beers from Budvar.
