A busy, non-food pub thought to date back to the late 16th Century is one of seven real ale establishments in Ackworth. An extensive refurbishment in 2015 has retained the open fire iron range and semi-circular entrance vestibule. There are stone-flagged floors throughout the pub. Offers a choice of cask ales. Has a name for live music with no jukebox! The village cricket pitch is behind the pub. It is a good start/finish point for country walks. May occasionally open later.
Note that due to a compilation error the pub did not show in the 2020 Good Beer Guide.
