Historic Interest
Also listed at 38 Long Brackland (in 1823 + 1839) & 24 Long Brackland (in 1830). A report in the Ipswich Journal* in 1836 (Mar-26) when Mrs Fanny King was landlady stated: William Chenery ostler at the Bushel was a witness in an attempted murder trial. The Bushel is described as backing onto St. Andrews Street." A report in the Bury & Norwich Post* in 1891 (Mar-10) when Mr Ellis was landlord stated: "he was accused of selling beer from a cart at Wordwell to men working in a field.
