The building dates from 1853, when it was erected by George Harris, a carpenter. It became a pub after the original owners fell into debt, and is now a large, open-plan bar and restaurant, the latter being in an extension added in 1984. At the back are a covered patio and a small children's play area. There is also some seating at the front. Food is served all day, consisting of traditional pub fare including steaks and fish. There is a pool table, darts and sports TV.
