Carpenters Arms, Stroud

Friendly pub, cosy interior with good value food.

The Carpenters Arms is a traditional 17th century Cotswold stone pub, set in the unique picturesque village of Miserden near Stroud. Believed to originally have been a carpenter’s shop, but changed to a pub around 100 years ago.

To the front of the pub there is are gravelled areas with bench/table combos which allows alfresco drinking for those seeking sun, air and a vista of village life.

Entry to the pub is via a low door with internal porch then through to the bar area which extends to the left and right. To the right you will find a cosy area with tables next to the large fireplace, to the right more tables and round the corner to what is another area extending into a bay window.

To the left of the bar the corridor extends to an area configured unusually as a sweet shop then on to the ladies and gents before exiting the building to the garden.

Normally holds a cider festival in September.

There are walks in picturesque remote countryside on the estate, one a lake circular that affords the opportunity for one to earn a drink and meal.
