An old building, completely modernised, with wooden floors throughout. Enter via an outside raised seating area (uncovered). Most people eat here but if you just want a drink walk to the back of the room where there is a bar with tables. As well as those listed there is a regular house beer - Golden Crust, brewed by Brentwood. Food is served all day (cold food only between 3 and 6pm).
Historic Interest
claims to be oldest inn in Britain (1171). Property listed in Domesday book. Large part of the building destroyed by fire in mid-1800�s.
