In the days when the Castle was a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery, beer miles were minimal as the brewery was just across the back yard!
Expansive two bar pub, the public bar is to the right, the lounge / restaurant bit is to the left with a snug at the rear between the two. Quiz nights are held on the first Sunday of the month. There is a TV at the rear of the public bar, but is not obtrusive. The background music is usually just that. Food nights such as a curry and a pint and all you can eat buffets at reasonable prices are held regularly. Quiz nights are held on the First Sunday of the month, and "open the box" every Wednesday at 9pm
Fields teams for the local darts and dominoes leagues and are active participants in local community events.
The hours stated are for January 2024. They will be extended (hopefully) thereafter
The bell-box at the rear of the public bar is noteworthy.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 3 regular beers.
