Cosy, welcoming two-bar local. "Proper pubs" like this are a rarity in the city centre. The Clarendon was taken on by Laurence Dixon (of the Champion of the Thames fame) in 2013. The right hand room has a bare boarded floor and half timbered walls. It is mainly used for dining. The main bar is on two levels, the upper one having a stone flagged floor. Out the back is a small sun-trap courtyard. Up to five cask ales are on handpumps. Weston's Old Rosie cider is also available. Home made, locally sourced food is served most at most sessions.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
