This friendly well-established free house provides Abbeydale Moonshine plus seven guest beers, including a porter or stout. In addition, there is at least, one real cider. Built in 1890 by long-closed Strout's Brewery (Neepsend, Sheffield), a central island bar serves the games room, lounge and tap room. Occasional beer festivals are held. Monthly tutored whisky tastings take advantage of the extensive range. There is a rear outdoor area, and an upstairs function room which hosts regular live folk sessions. Children are welcome. No meals Sunday evening.
