FEB 2023 - Reopened on the 9th under the new ownership of Rory and Vicki Steel, very well known locals in the village as they have lived there for many years. Now trading on a seven day basis with lunch and dinner also available daily (no food lunchtimes Monday & Tuesday) and the accommodation offering has been extended to 7 rooms. Real ale is on sale.
17th century inn located in the historic Ettrick valley, popular with visitors plus walkers and cyclists. The cosy and welcoming bar and adjacent dining room are decorated with old photographs, water jugs other paraphernalia. There is a strong emphasis on food so tables are set for meals. The bar stools remain popular and there is a smaller room available to drinkers. The pub has also restarted darts and quiz nights and there is new outdoor seating at the front of the pub
