Although a hotel and bistro, the separate bar is run as a pub, now with a recently extended range of well kept ales. Enter the bar via the door on the left of the main entrance. The Crown is a lovely old building over looking the main square an market place, while the Cathedral is a few minutes walk away.

William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, preached to a congregation of 3000, in 1685, from a window of the Crown. He was arrested, but then released on the intervention of Bishop Kidder
