Attractive Tudor-style former coaching inn and hotel with rooms, parts of which date back to the 14th or 15th century (sources vary!). During the 18th-century, the inn was a stopping point for the famous Red Rover London-Liverpool stagecoach.
An open plan bar layout serves a number of linked rooms with low, beamed ceilings and an outdoor drinking area is available on a patio at the rear. Beers are from Greene King.
Pub meals menu, plus specials and children's menu, with breakfasts served from early morning.
