Some may recall this pub as Hewitt’s Tavern, when reopened following a makeover and renamed to commemorate the former Hewitt’s brewery which was sited across the street. Now having regained its old name, there are still many photos related to Hewitt’s pubs in the area. Like so many, the makeover involved removal of the wall separating lounge and bar, although the two entities still exist. An annex on the car park side may be used although some might find it a little remote from the “action”. This is the only room which permits children and has various play items. A pool area is adjacent to the bar. No beer garden but there is a tabled patio next to the car park, suitable for smokers. No real ale available when surveyed 19-07-2022
