Drinkers' paradise in an industrial area, this multi-award winning, traditionally-styled freehouse has featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for more than 30 years. Twenty minutes walk from city centre and close to the bus routes along Thornton Road and Legrams Lane. Its traditional, unpretentious feel appeals to a wide variety of people from loyal locals to well-travelled real ale enthusiasts. Eight real ales are usually on sale including at least one dark beer. Real and non-real ciders are offered and there may also be a perry. Eight keg taps offer a range of beers, European lagers, Guinness and a mass-produced cider. Foreign bottled beers are also stocked.
