The Grade II listed Globe, on the Clanna Lane junction with the main A48, dates from at least 1805 when a Friendly Society is recorded as meeting there. It was once owned by the Bristol United Brewery, ultimately becoming a Courage tied house. In 2008, due to ill health, the owner of the Globe applied for planning permission for change of use to residential and it closed seemingly for good in 2009. It was put on the market again in 2012 with the planning permission granted but luckily a group of locals and interested parties purchased the property and it reopened as a pub in 2014. Today the Globe is once again thriving as a comfortable traditional pub and restaurant. The relaxing bar and dining areas feature original oak beams and real fires.
