Opened in 1994 in the former Pearson's menswear shop in the town centre, other than the narrow frontage this is a typical Wetherspoon pub by day. The evening can see loud music played, especially at weekends. The pub does go back a long way inside, the final raised third being surrounded with shelves of old books. The front section boasts old framed advertisements for local businesses on the walls and local old photographs can be found throughout. The building is grade II listed. Alcohol served from 9am.
