Two-bar community pub near Newbury RFC and the site of the first Battle of Newbury, 1643. This excellent two-bar community pub has traded under its present name since 1761. The lounge bar has a partial wall containing a wood-burning stove, which separates it from a smaller dining area. The separate public bar offers darts, pool, TV and juke-box. There is a large car park, beer garden and outdoor covered area for smokers. After a while when no food was available, Indian Kitchen at The Gun Pub opened on 22 November 2016 for restaurant and takeaway food.
Opening hours from December 2020 are 4-10pm daily for dining in and takeaway
