Iconic music venue originally opened in the 1958 by Allan Williams, the Beatles first manager. This is commemorated near the bar by the CAMRA Pubs in Time plaque no.14 from February 2006. Ground floor is a normal bar. Basement has live music from 8pm Thursday to Sunday evenings, with the traditional ethos of the venue to provide a platform for new music continuing. First floor is a Vinyl Records shop/café, complete with Custom Listening Booths.
Unfortunately the real ale previously offered did not sell well enough.
