This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.
An Italian restaurant and wine bar fronted, perhaps unsurprisingly, by a very large pergola. This attractive building saw service as tea rooms and as a pub before acquiring its current identity. The interior is light, airy and peaceful; the garden offers relaxation for adults and excitement for children. Opposite is Bolton's Bench, named after the Duke of Bolton; it is a spot long favoured by picnickers, ponies and the studiously idle; near the Bench is a cricket pitch.
