A friendly backstreet local – akin to Coronation Street – serving the local community in the immediate terraced streets. Opened in 1885 and named after George Leeman, Chairman of the North Eastern Railway and Lord Mayor of the City. Now a two-roomed establishment – one of which is grandly titled a lounge – but which is an intimate snug.
Leeman Rose, York
