A relaxed, friendly freehouse by the sea wall on the coast of the Severn Estuary, with good walks nearby, and popular with locals from the nearby estate. (The original lighthouse, reputedly haunted, is a stroll away on the sea wall and is privately owned and operating as a B&B.) The upstairs has been converted to a rustic style restaurant which overlooks the estuary; it specialises in steaks served on a steakstone (a volcanic rock), open 7-9 Friday and Saturday. Live music Fridays and Saturdays. Note there is a demand response transport (DRT) bus service which needs to be pre-booked via Newport Bus.
