This uniquely named micropub is situated within a Grade II-listed building and opened in December 2018. It is named after local chemist John Walker's 19th century invention, the friction match. Promoted as the smallest pub in Stockton, on their Facebook page, bench seating, booths and stools make it a cosy venue for approximately 25 customers. Friendly bar staff create a warm and welcoming ambiance. Third pint glasses available. Note: Pub opens Fridays and Saturdays only. CAMRA local branch 2020 Pub of the Year. Tickets for events at the adjacent Georgian Theatre and Green Room can be purchased here. NB - New opening times applicable from January 2022.
