Located high on the hills to the East of Winchester, The Milbury's dates from the 17th century and has stunning northbound views from its garden. The South Downs Way runs past the pub, so it is very convenient for all users. The pub is well known for its large (human-sized) treadmill that was used to pull water up from its 100m deep well - customers are encouraged to put coins in the charity box in exchange for some ice to drop down the well. The Wheel Room features a gallery seating area, and there is a separate restaurant with an extension room. The Wheel Room and/or skittle alley can be hired for private functions. The experienced landlord, Martin, knows beers well and sources them from a wide range, mostly local. The main bar has two open fires, horse brasses & painted model soldiers in display cabinets. The pub is a magnet for various car and motorcycle rallies including TVR, PistonHeads, & Ariel (motorcycles, not flying!) when camping may be available.
