Built in circa 1640, the Mildmay Arms is a traditional English village pub. After a chequered history in recent times it had been open and closed several times before being closed and effectively abandoned for two years.
Situated just 600 metres off the A303 near Sparkford, on the road to Yeovil it was purchased by the present owner in 2014 and a huge rebuild/refurbishment took place reviving the pub to a high standard not seen for many years. The patio area looks onto the road which can be busy at times, but plenty of chairs with large umbrellas can make outside dining quite pleasant. As at October 2018 car parking is no longer available opposite the pub and finding somewhere to park may be tricky! In addition to two real ales and local cider there is an extensive wine and spirits list.
A thriving pub for locals who have what is effectively is their 'own bar' and a separate bar which leads to the restaurant. Several skittle teams keep the alley well-used and the pub lively.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 2 regular beers.
