Many years ago now, when it was the Prince Albert, this was one of the finest real ale pubs in the region, if not the country. Then, after a long time in the doldrums, it re-emerged in April 2010 as a rather self-consciously wacky, incarnation. Having again closed completely for a while the Missing Sock has again opened from December 2020, initially as a cafe. They do have big plans for 2021 which will see them operating as a pub and venue. The inside is spacious and has a welcoming fire. There is a large outdoor area which will be used for events such as weddings, markets and beer festivals. The pub has accommodation, caravan spaces, and electric car charging.
