One of only two Robinsons pubs in Shropshire, this 16th century inn was originally a coaching house for Whittington Castle, opposite. Quite large with several separate rooms, it is family run with 6 en-suite bedrooms, and lunches and dinners are served daily in the Castle Lounge or the Moat Bar. It's a very tidy pub with spotless facilities.
Situated 15 miles from Shrewsbury and 20 miles from Chester, the whole area is full of history and legend, from Dick Whittington to the Babes in the Wood. Whittington Castle is just across the road, with free entry to visitors. An early Good Beer Guide regular (1976-1978).
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (Occasional Robinsons seasonal) and 2 regular beers.
