A friendly, traditional pub dating from 1740 located down a passageway off the main street, right on the corner of the Green. It has a deceptively spacious interior and attracts a slightly older crowd than the neighbouring Cricketers. Sports fans can enjoy televised matches but it is easy to escape around the back where there are a number of cosy seating areas with subdued lighting. A good range of pub grub is available from noon 'til nine every day. After a recent refurbishment the bar now sports eight new Fullers fancy hand-pumps. Outside there are plenty of benches to sit and view the idyllic Green.
