The Railway has recently (Nov 2022) changed hands and has had a pleasant refurbishment after many years of being run by one of the towns local characters. As the name suggests it can be found near to the town's railway station; evening arrivals can produce a sudden surge as the tavern is the first port of call on way into town. The Tavern is essentially a single room establishment at the end of a terrace no larger than 2 rooms in a Victorian working class terraced house combined. A TV shows sporting events, and the jukebox is well patronised. The front area of the pub consists of bar stools and table seating with one wall covered in pump clips. The rear area has wall settles with cushions. The makeover has given the Railway a brighter interior whist retaining its traditional feel.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
